Vic Chicks 4x4 was created by Aleisha Thompson for Victorian women from all backgrounds, whether you own a 4WD, ride shotgun with your partner or just enjoy getting into the outdoors, we welcome every single one of you.
We are a family orientated group that are passionate about everyone having a go, everyone having fun and everyone feeling welcome. Our biggest aim is to create a family friendly environment where everyone can feel happy and comfortable around each other.
We are forever growing group, with now over 2000 members!
Our events are created with beginner drivers in mind and we try to boost women’s confidence, where they can head home with a smile on their face. At our events, partners and children are welcome and depending on where we go, your pups are welcome too!
We are also aiming to get women known in the four wheel drive industry. It is a highly male dominated industry where you rarely see women on the screens of 4WD TV shows, so we are aiming to change that, to get it know that chicks can do it too.
Our BIGGEST passion and aim for the group is, to get all of our members out there, enjoying the outdoors, gaining new friendships that can last a life time and feel like they are a part of an accepting and friendly community.
From the team at Vic Chicks 4x4 – Get out there, have fun and make some EPIC memories!!
My names Aleisha Thompson, I’m the founder of Vic Chicks 4X4! I decided to make the group while sitting around a campfire, thinking I wouldn’t mind doing this more often with like minded ladies!
I grew up wanting to go bush but never really got the chance as much as I would of liked, as my parents weren’t really 4 wheel driving or camping

I grew up wanting to go bush but never really got the chance as much as I would of liked, as my parents weren’t really 4 wheel driving or camping all the time people haha. So I didn’t really start going bush all the time till I was about 16 & now I’d rather be sitting around a fire in the bush over anything!
I’m Tash Lucas and I am an administratior for the group.
I’m based in the Yarra Valley and own a 05 GU Patrol which I am slowly building into a tourer for those longer trips, especially to the Outback and more remote areas.

I have been into camping and 4WDing my whole entire life, as soon as I could walk, my parents had me camping every weekend and school holidays.
I was behind the wheel of fourbys at aged 7 or 8 on the family farm and I loved it.
When I was 14 my parents took me out of school, sold our house, bought a caravan and we took off for 2 years travelling around Australia.
It was the most amazing lifestyle.
I joined Vic Chicks 4x4 as I didn’t have a lot of chick mates who were into the same stuff as me and I am so glad I did join, I have made some great friendships.
I am glad I get to watch so many women in the group come so far with their sense of adventure and I always see a rise in their confidence which is what I love most about Vic Chicks 4x4.

I grew up with 4wding and camping, from travelling to Darwin, Mt Isa, Uluru and the Simpson Desert to name a few places. Getting away from the world and going places where you can sit around a campfire and have no mobile phone reception and enjoy the wonderful places Australia has to offer with your mates is the best thing I could think of doing. Can't wait to be able to organise trips to places I haven't yet been to or that I want to go back to. This is just the beginning of my travels and I can't wait to see where I get to over the next few years.

One of my first memories of 4wding was with my dad in his pride and joy Toyota forerunner 2.4ltr exploring through Wombat state Forrest and up around Myrtleford and Bright in the Nth east. I have always had a great love of camping, travelling roads unknown and finding great treasures that Australia has to offer! I lived in Cairns FNQ for 18years and with my beloved 75 series cruiser learnt a lot & drove some awesome tracks. My current partner in crime is my 09 ML triton & she is a great little 4by. I came across the Vic chicks group one year at the Melbourne 4wd show and joined along with my Cousin Mel who is also in the group. Have met some bloody awesome people during events that the group has hosted and I, like this group am a great believer in empowering girls to get out explore, have a ball, learn new skills and meet new mates! Hope to see you out there soon!
